      Rated 3 out of 5�by Great Hardware - Quirky Software The drive itself works as expected. Easy plug-n-play setup. The backup software included with the drive (Backup Now EZ 4) leaves much to be desired. I used it to create a complete PC backup. But the progress graph only goes to 99% and never shows 100% and never tells me it's completed. Also, I tried several times to create a bootable USB flash drive using that feature of the software, but it keeps failing. The "help" menu offers no solution nor way of troubleshooting that issue. Searched online (NTI website) but did not find a solution there either. January 4, 2016

      Probably not. First, your hard disk controller on a 13 year old computer probably will not address this large of a hard drive. It will only "see" 200 Meg or so. Second, if it recognizes all of the memory, it will be really slow to access. You need to check out both the speed of the CPU and the capacity of the HD controller. Good luck!

      An external hard drive will have no effect on processing speed. If you want to continue using your older PC, your best option is to increase your RAM (memory) to the maximum that your computer will take.

      When you connect the hard drive to a USB the pc will recognize it. You then have the choice of using the software that comes with it or as I did you can use Windows back-up software.

      It is like "follow the bouncing ball". The next time you go to refresh the back-up it will change only what is needed to update itself and will be much faster than the first back-up.
